I think your foggy, misty photos are a perfect representation of travel. The memories are all there, but they are just a bit fuzzy, and perhaps a tad bit romanticized. I love the dream-like quality of these pictures.

Oh my, that meal looks delicious. It’s almost as colorful as all those beautiful houses. I wonder what the Buranians (sp?) think of the world’s colorless gray and blue big cities.

Isn’t it wonderful to be in a place where strolling the streets is as novel and foreign and lovely an experience as paying the fee to see the tourist sites? And can you imagine living with those high water issues? We have a bit of rain and half of the coastline falls into the ocean. How do they keep those buildings standing for hundreds of years?

Your photos capture beautifully what I love most about Venice: the wild, vibrant, breathing color. No surprise that Murano glass comes from here, is it? And hey, I can’t believe you didn’t purchase at least 1/2 yard of fabric. Such restraint.
